our club

Welcome to Gympie & District Pony Club!

Gympie Pony Club is a large, family-friendly club offering all riders the opportunity to develop their riding skills, have fun and form lasting friendships. With grounds located next to the Mary River including a cross-country course that is continually being upgraded, we are also across the road from the Gympie Horse and Rodeo Grounds.

The club was the first pony club to be formed in Queensland in 1958 – see our history page for more about this.

Gympie Pony Club caters to the very young and/or inexperienced rider who may be riding their first horse or pony to those who compete at State and National level – and every level in between. We are therefore able to offer strong and valuable leadership and skills mentoring for our young riders. We welcome mature aged riders and parents who want to ride with their children. We have a number of boys in our club who enjoy the riding and social aspect as much as the girls.

Wednesday Riding Group

We also have a mid-week riding group from 9am – 12.30pm.

Importantly we welcome riders who just want to have fun.

Competition is optional…having fun is not!
